A step by step guide to using post mix for garden fencing

Post mix is a ready made fast setting concrete mix that is ideal for setting wooden, metal and concrete fencing posts by just adding water and mixing. Below are step by step instruction on how to set a post.

How to use post mix

Step 1: Dig a hole which is a 1/3 of the posts height and 3 times wider than the post.

Step 2: Place the post that you are using into the hole, make sure it is straight and in the correct position.

Step 3: Then, you’ll need to add over half the water into the hole. 2L is recommended per one bag of postfix.

Step 4: Add your bags of postfix into the hole followed by the remaining water and stir.

Step 5: Check the position of your post is correct and use a spirit level to make sure that it is straight.

Step 6: Only, if necessary, add more water to the postfix, but be careful not to add too much as it will weaken the mix.

It takes 5-10 minutes for the postfix to harden.

We recommend that you use 1.5-2 bags of postfix per standard post, although this can vary depending how big you dig the hole.

For a larger post such as a gate post, you should use up to 4 bags of postfix.
